How to Make Capri Sun Labels Plus FREE Template

Looking to make your own custom Capri Sun labels? Good news, you’re in the right place!

I’m excited to share this super easy project. Custom juice pouch labels are a great addition to birthday parties, gatherings, or just adding a touch of fun to your child’s daily juice pouch for school lunch. A custom juice pouch is also nice to pair with a custom chip bag for party favors! 

While there are so many different ways you can print these, such as at your local printer or print shop, an office shop like office depot, a print lab or photo labs, this tutorial will show you the easiest way to print Capri Sun or Kool-aid Jammers at home using a standard inkjet printer. And the best part, there is no cutting involved!

Now, before we even begin, let’s answer a few frequently asked questions that you may have.

Custom Capri Sun Labels Supplies

Before we dive into the tutorial, let’s gather our craft supplies:

• Party Printables Vinyl Die Cut Labels
• Your free blank Capri Sun label template (download link at end of post)
• A computer or laptop
• An inkjet printer or laser printer (I use this, but here are other recommendations)

How to Make Capri Sun Labels Steps

Step 1: Download the Free Capri Sun Label Template

To start, download the free editable template for Capri Sun labels. You can find it here. It is available in different formats for Photoshop/Affinity and Canva users. Keep in mind, that this tutorial and template is also compatible with Kool-aid Jammers. It is designed to make the process super easy, allowing you to customize the labels with your custom wording, favorite character clipart, or any other creative elements you’d like. The only thing it does not include is the straw hole, and I’ll explain why later.

Step 2: Edit the Template and Create Print Sheet

Open the template and print sheet using Photoshop or Canva. With the template open, start designing. Click on the text tool to add your own information like child’s name or sayings. You can also include character clipart or your own images. I love to grab my images from Creative Fabrica, because they keep small businesses in mind. You can start a free trial to download 10 free fonts and graphics for your design. However, if you plan on selling these as an instant download digital file or as physical items, I highly recommend the annual subscription because you will have unlimited access to all graphics and fonts for commercial  use. Once you’re done designing, SAVE A COPY as a jpeg or PNG.

Step 3: Create Print Sheet

If using Photoshop/Affinity, got to the print sheet file. Double click on the smart object layer icon. Place the finished design into the smart object layer, close out the tab (click YES, when prompted to save changes). Now your print sheet is filled and you’re ready to print.

If using Canva, go to the print sheet document. Upload your saved juice pouch label design and drop into each photo frame. Now your print sheet is filled. Download as a PDF FILE PRINT, check the flatten option. Now you’re ready to print

Step 4: Print the Labels

Once your design is complete and print sheet ready, load your printer with Party Printables Vinyl 3.5×5 Die Cut Labels. Our free digital download template works perfectly with these labels. However, if you opt for the Party Printables Vinyl full sheet labels used for water bottle labels and beverage labels, keep in mind that you would need to cut it down to size. If using Photoshop, simply go to FILE>PRINT. If you downloaded from Canva, go to your Downloads folder, right click, select more options then select print. For your printer settings, Click preferences/more options. For paper type: select photo paper glossy, for quality select HIGH or standard.  Ensure that you are printing at DEFAULT SIZE, do not click “Fit to page” or “Fit to printable area”. 

Step 5: Apply the Labels

Peel the sticker labels from the liner. Flip the juice pouch face down and apply the Capri Sun label to the back. Make contact and adhere down the center, flip over and firmly rock back and forth to adhere the sides affix them to your Capri Sun juice pouches. Press down firmly to ensure they adhere securely.

I like to add my Capri Sun labels to the back for several reasons. First, you don’t have to use a hole punch to punch a hole for the straw. Second, you don’t have to remove the straw, which may get torn in the process. Third, guests can see the flavor they are getting. And finally, when it’s time for pictures, you can see the design while the kids are drinking their juice.
