How to Assemble DIY Journal and Planner
1. Print Cover and Inserts
I design my covers using Photoshop. If you’re not familiar with it you can also get pre-made cover designs from Etsy, or create your own using Canva or Word Doc. Print borderless on this letter size glossy cardstock using a top or rear loading inkjet printer. Then either print your planner inserts or use pre-lined, dotted, or blank paper for the inside.
2. Hole Punch & Arrange Paper
Use the Trubind hole punch to punch holes into the cover page, back kraft cardstock page and the insert pages. Do not punch more than 20 at a home. Arrange your papers in this order BACK, COVER, INSERT PAGES.
3. ADD WIRE AND BIND
Drape wire on back metal hangers and add your pages, face down. First BACK COVER, then FRONT cover then INSIDE PAGES. Take off hanger and hold planner in your hands and place wire spine into the wire closing slot. Make sure dial matches the width of your wire (i.e. 1/2 or 9/16). Lower the lever and once wire binding is closed take out. Turn the back to the back and your planner is complete/
